Açaí (ah-sigh-ee) is a large palm tree indigenous to the Amazon River basin. Açaí fruit is traditionally utilized as food and medicine containing a natural spectrum of antioxidants, including the pigmented anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins. Açaí also contains healthy omega fats, protein and fiber. To preserve the fragile antioxidants, Açaí is first deseeded, then the pulp and juice is flash frozen and freeze-dried, retaining all the natural goodness of the fruit in the convenience of a powder. Açaí POW-der contains approximately 47%- 49% good omega fats by weight. These fats are most efficiently preserved by keeping the powder away from moisture and heat.

To prevent rancidity, each bottle is packed with a desiccant to absorb moisture and a small amount of citric acid (1.6%) to stabilize the anthocyanins. For optimal long-term storage keep opened bottles in refrigerator or freezer. The Açaí POW-der has a one-year expiration date.
